"Green" &
Energy-Efficient
The homes at Newberry
Place will include a number of sustainable and green building
techniques such as:
Solar water heaters
Foam
and cellulose insulation
Natural ventilation systems
Passive solar heating
Bamboo
& Marmoleum flooring
Recycled fiber carpet
Energy Star appliances
According to our recent
energy audit, the average heating bill of a Newberry Place home will
be 50-65% less than a federal Energy Star-rated home!
We will also have
recycling and composting bins on site for use by all Newberry
Place members.
The Design &
Construction
Newberry Place was
designed by Destigter/Smith Architects. Our general contractor is
Vander Kodde Construction, and David deVelder of ICCF serves as our
owners' representative. The first
homes are scheduled to be complete this summer, and the last phase
of homes will be ready for move-in this fall.
